My passion for counselling came from both personal and professional experience in asking for support and supporting others. I believe connection to others, along with a safe non-judgmental space to be heard can allow us to begin the journey in growth, healing and self-exploration. I believe all our emotions, behaviours, and thoughts serve a purpose – even those we perceive as negative- and that by understanding that purpose, we can better understand ourselves and our relationships. Life is challenging and there is no one size fits all approach to it. One thing that is common for everyone throughout life is times of pain and struggle as well as feelings of being overwhelmed, and uncertain. These feelings can at times leave us feeling alone, confused, and perhaps stuck. It can be scary to reach out for support and I am honoured to be a part of your journey.

Get To Know Me Personally

  • I enjoy meditation, dancing and seeking support from friends, families, and my own therapist.

  • In my teens I decided I wanted to be a counsellor. My teen years weren’t the best but I had a really inspiring youth worker at my school, she was kind, caring, and non-judgmental and I really valued my conversations with her. I have had my own experiences in life, some that relate to my areas of focus, and I think what helped me the most through these things is having a connection to another person. Sometimes we can’t talk to our family and friends about what is going on for us and I really enjoy being able to be that connection and create that safe space for others.

  • My courage. I am very proud of getting sober. It was not an easy journey and at times it was really scary, there were a lot of unknowns and a lot of things I had to work through, but I am so glad that I did. Addiction is often something people try to hide away, but I know that I have become stronger sharing my story.

  • A Ballerina – I still dance today but just for fun!

  • I’m spending time with my friends and family, going to concerts, taking dance classes, and travelling.

  • I think sometimes people (me included) can say well other people have it worse so my stuff isn’t a big deal, if it is something that is bothering you then it is a big deal and support from a counsellor can help. Counselling also doesn’t have to be serious all the time in fact my favorite homework assignment for people is to go do something they think is fun. Counselling can be a long-term thing, but it can also be helpful for really specific things, like how to have a difficult conversation with a co-worker, or support around what type of career you would like. As a holistic person centered counsellor, I don’t believe there is a one size fits all approach, and you never have to talk about something you don’t want to.

  • I love connecting with people and being witness to their own personal growth. The relationship built between counsellor and client is a really valuable one and I always feel honored to be part of someone’s journey, whether it’s for a short-term concern or I am seeing them through multiple life stages, my clients really inspire me. I love learning and taking courses to enrich my practice, but the amount I learn just from my clients is incredibly rewarding.

  • Compassionate, non-judgmental, and funny – I often have clients say they didn’t expect to laugh in session.

  • “Be the Change you wish to see in the world”.

It can be easy to blame other people or outside circumstances for our own unhappiness and this can leave us feeling stuck. I love this quote because it puts the control back in own hands and allows us to create a world we thrive in.
