I see you. I know that with life comes suffering, and that we have all been through something difficult or painful. Sometimes our experiences get internalized and it is difficult for us to identify why we feel the way we do. My role in therapy is to create a space safe enough for us to explore together. To look at your experiences and see if we can identify a pattern that may be the root cause of why you are struggling today.
My personal experience with therapy started when I was young. My work in therapy has uncovered so many things that I didn’t even know were there. Equipped with this knowledge, I am better able to understand myself and replace harmful coping mechanisms with helpful coping skills.
I specialize in relationship and sex therapy, and I completed my thesis on how to support clients who are in non-monogamous relationships. I have an understanding of the harmful narratives that surround monogamy and non-monogamy and will work with you to develop the type of relationship that will work best for you.
My approach to therapy is rooted in the desire to support, empower, and educate clients. I believe my clients are capable and resilient, and that together we can develop skills to create change.

Get To Know Me Personally

  • Connection; as an extrovert I know that I need to be surrounded by people who love me and who I love in order to stay grounded.

Exercise; it’s my personal form of meditation.

Rest; for me this doesn’t have to be sleep, but giving myself the permission to say no to things and to relax.

  • My relationship with therapy started early. I saw first hand how therapy could help people and support families, and I knew I wanted to be a part of that. My natural abilities and temperament are well suited to this kind of work, and I honestly can’t imagine myself doing anything else.

  • My relationships. I didn’t always have people in my life who were able to love and support me unconditionally. I have worked really hard on knowing my worth and understanding my needs and boundaries. As a result I have surrounded myself with people who I am proud to love and be loved by.

  • A therapist!

  • I spend my time with friends and family. My relationships are the most important thing in my life and they make me feel whole. I love playing volleyball, dancing, and journaling, and sometimes reading a book (usually about therapy!). I also love hiking, running, and making people laugh.

  • Therapy isn’t going to “fix” you. There is nothing wrong with you, and you aren’t broken.

Therapy will help you unpack things that may be holding you back, and will help you learn new skills for managing those problems.

  • Supporting people through their struggles, but also witnessing their “aha” moments. One of the biggest rewards of this work is seeing a client’s understanding of themselves or their experiences change, which is often communicated through their body language. The expression of relief or watching someone let go of something painful that they have been holding onto is what keeps me so engaged in this work.

  • Empathic, knowledgeable, and confident. My clients tell me that they feel I really listen to them and provide them with helpful insight.

  • If you’re going through something, just know it’s called going through it. You’re not going to get stuck there. You’re not going to die. You’re going to survive.
