I chose to become a counsellor because I believe in and have personally experienced the power of healing through connection with others. I was inspired to pursue this path because I have learned how important it is to understand our emotions and how early relational trauma can deeply affect us. My approach is emotion-focused and trauma informed, and draws from parts work, attachment theory, and somatic therapies. At the centre of my work is compassion, and I hope to offer each client the opportunity to accept parts of themselves they haven't been able to before. You can expect to be met with a gentle and non-judgmental approach. I aim to connect with clients through curiosity, grounded in my belief that all parts of ourselves are good and exist for a reason. My hope is that we can build a trusting and authentic therapeutic relationship in which you will feel safe to show up and be seen.

Get To Know Me Personally

  • Getting into nature, spending time with my cat and dog, listening to my emotions!

  • Counselling began as a personal journey for me. Since a young age I experienced moments of feeling lost, lonely, and overwhelmed by my emotions. As a teen I dug deep into self-help books and content- prompting my interest in psychology and mental health, eventually seeking out therapy myself. I began a career in supportive roles at various agencies, and I was energized by the relationships I built with clients. Opting for a career as a therapist motivates me to continue my own journey of healing alongside my clients.

  • My pursuit of authenticity and vulnerability. Like many of my clients, the environment that I grew up in often neglected the importance of listening to my emotions, and valuing my inner experience. Despite this, I have always felt a strong inclination to pay attention to my genuine feelings. This holds true with my identity as a queer woman, but it goes beyond that; it has been about embracing being a sensitive and feeling human being. I take pride in my willingness to take emotional risks, which also helps me to empathize with clients. I've personally experienced how terrifying vulnerability can be, yet I also understand the profound healing it can bring.

  • A veterinarian. I’ve always been a big animal lover and I believe animals can be so healing!

  • I love to explore nature with my partner and our dog, drink a good latte and thrift shop, or find a really good book to get absorbed in.

  • What some people may not realize about therapy is that, in addition to the specific issues and topics you bring, the therapeutic process itself holds significance. Any emotions that surface in relation to your therapist or your overall therapy experience can offer valuable insights into your human experience. Some of the most impactful moments in therapy happen when clients find the courage to authentically express their feelings and thoughts about their relationship with me as their therapist.

  • Being a therapist has made me a more compassionate person. In life, it's easy to judge, make assumptions about others, or believe the tough outer shells people present. But as a counsellor, I get to see what's really underneath, the raw and vulnerable side of people. It's a constant reminder that deep down, we're all soft and deserving of compassion. And the cool part is, I also get to help my clients see that in themselves too! 😊

  • Warm, gently direct, non-judgmental, insightful.
