Get To Know Me Personally

  • I feel my best when I am keeping physically active, trying to live mindfully in each moment, and setting healthy boundaries.

  • Emotional regulation can be really hard and is something I struggled with on a daily basis for most of my life. Learning how to recognize, process, accept, and appreciate my own emotions through a trauma-informed lens has been a life-changing journey for me. Paired with my desire to help others through relationships, becoming a counsellor was a natural fit. For me, it’s not just a job; it’s a shared exploration toward emotional well-being. I've been there, and I’m here to lend an understanding ear and a guiding hand as we navigate this together.

  • I think of myself as resilient and tenacious. Tackling each challenge head-on has helped me discover my own internal strength. Among my recent accomplishments, completing a master’s degree while balancing a full-time job and starting a family stands out. It reflects my unwavering determination and belief that we all have that inner strength waiting to surprise us when we face challenges head-on.

  • A teacher. I love that providing information and education is a part of my work as a counsellor.

  • You'll usually find me enjoying the great outdoors with my husband, our daughter, and our two dogs, embarking on some kind of adventure. While I once had more time for hobbies, these days, every spare minute is better spent with my lively toddler. Family time has become my favourite and most cherished adventure!

  • There's nothing wrong with you. It's natural for our minds to zero in on what could go wrong because, historically, it served as a survival mechanism. However, counselling provides us with an opportunity to shift that perspective. Together, we can explore and recognize the strengths and positive aspects within you, starting a journey to see what is truly 'right' with you.

  • Experiencing those 'aha' moments with clients is incredibly rewarding. Witnessing someone who is committed to the process make a personal discovery that shifts their perspective is nothing short of wonderful. It breathes new hope and meaning into their journey, and those moments are the heartbeat of the counselling process.

  • Clients often express that they see me as a calming presence, dedicated to creating a safe and supportive space. They find genuine value in the insights I provide, guiding them effectively through their challenges. Additionally, clients appreciate my honest and direct approach.

  • Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some sort of battle. To me, this quote underscores the importance of kindness and empathy in our interactions with others. Everyone is facing challenges, whether visible or not.
