Courage & Vulnerability

To be seen is to be vulnerable, and vulnerability takes a lot of courage. As a therapist, I will walk alongside you because I believe that we all have the capacity to experience healing when we are seen as we are in a trusting environment. My hope is that you not only develop a greater awareness within yourself, but that you truly feel heard, understood, and known. In my work I take on the role of therapist and advocate while operating through family systems and attachment based therapies, and utilize experiential and trauma-informed interventions.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#15194) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I have a significant amount of experience working with youth and adults who struggle with PTSD, Trauma, Anxiety & Stress, as well as individuals who identify as first responders (Secondary Trauma). I utilize trauma-informed tools such as Observed Experiential Integration (OEI) and Life Span Integration, and other interventions such as Satir Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Additionally, both my husband (Ryan McCurdy) and I offer premarital counselling to couples as they prepare to enter marriage.

I consider it an honour to work with my clients and to hear their stories, I believe that therapy is a collaborative process in which the client and counsellor work together to create and reach therapeutic goals.
