My goal is to help you transition successfully and live the life you deserve and want. With care and compassion, we will collaborate to identify and harness your strengths and inspire you to fulfill your hopes and aspirations.

My areas of practice are relationships unresolved issues and unmet needs, depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, abuse, and sexuality. Through a holistic, nurturing approach, I utilize somatic, emotional and mental work to set the foundation for your healing and growth. I believe that you are unique like everyone else. As such our work will be tailored to your own specific needs, life path and resources.

For over two decades, I have been supporting my diverse clients with a variety of therapeutic orientations: Psychodynamic, Mindfulness-based Therapy, somatic experiencing and hypnotherapy. I enrich my practice with evidence based therapeutic interventions and  Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Bowen family systems.

I provide services in English and/or Arabic.

I have gained extensive Canadian and international experience in clinical counselling, education, and management. I hold a Masters of Arts of Clinical Psychology, a Masters of Education, Human Rights and Development Studies. Additionally, I have widened my professional horizons through extensive professional development courses in clinical supervision, family therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapy. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#15785). In addition to my private counselling practice I serve in a leadership role at a non-profit organization, providing my expertise in family preservation and re-unification programming, as well as trauma-informed practice. I supervise clinical counsellors, paraprofessionals and non-clinical workers. I believe in the importance of the role they play in their client’s progress. As a supervisor and trainer, I incorporate evidence based content and engaging approach that stimulates learning and growth.

I am an advocate of self-care and work life balance. I practice yoga and meditation and enjoy dancing and cardio workout. I spend my weekends with my family hiking, canoeing, going on long road trips and/or attending live shows.
