Registered Clinical Counsellor (#): 22697

Locations: Surrey Therapist Online

Serving: Children Youth Adults Young Adults Couples Families

I have been working with children, youth and adults for over twenty years in various settings. As I pursued further education and gained experience, my passion continued to grow to work among a diverse group of people. Everyone has their own perception of the world and unique story. Working with people in various capacities has always been part of my life and being a clinical counsellor, allows me to support children, youth, adults and families who might be struggling with mental health, or other personal challenges in their life. Some of my clinical approaches to therapy include person-centred, cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy and strength-based. I believe it is important to work collaboratively with clients to support them with their goals, that meet their individual needs, while they gain a better understanding of self and how to deal with life’s daily challenges.

Get To Know Me Personally

  • Exercise, eating/resting and taking time for myself to do the things I enjoy.

  • It has always been my passion to work with children, youth, adults and families which stems from growing up in a diverse and extended family unit. Being a counsellor allows me to provide my clients with a safe, welcoming, and non-judgemental space where they can be supported to work on their journey.

  • I am proud of my overall life, and the challenges, struggles and barriers I have overcome while developing and maintaining my personal, social and professional accomplishments and relationships.

  • When I was younger, I always wanted to be a schoolteacher. I did not become a classroom teacher but pursued my passion for working with children, youth and families in different environmental settings.

  • I am spending time with my family and friends while trying to explore new adventures, including travelling, walking, scrapbooking, visiting new places, socializing, watching movies, and spending time at home.

  • It is never too late to engage in counselling, everyone seeks out counselling for different reasons, and nobody should feel any shame or blame. Overall, we all want to gain a better understanding on how to deal with life’s challenges and struggles while we try to improve our own quality of life and sometimes, we need that extra support to reach these milestones.

  • Meeting a diverse group of people from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds while I continue to learn with them.

  • Calm, empathic, non-judgemental, good listener, patient, and insightful.

  • “The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart” (Helen Keller)
