Counselling Rates, Benefits Plans, & FAQs

We offer a range of rates depending on the type of session and extended benefits.

Sometimes you need more than a family member or friend to help you get through the tough times. At Vitality Collective, we take the effort to understand your story so we can create a plan of action to help you achieve your goals.

See our full list of rates and FAQs below. If you’d like to discuss options for your personal situation, you can also email or call our clinic directly. We are here to help.

What are your counselling fees?

Our session fees are aligned with the recommended fee scale provided by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Payment of session fees are due at the time of service and we happily accept Credit Card or Interac E-transfer. We do not accept cash at this time. All new clients are required to place a valid credit card on file to secure your booking, though may opt to pay by E-transfer by emailing our billing coordinator before the session. All session fees are subject to GST. Our base rates are as follows, with minor variability depending on the counsellor:

  • Individual Session (50 min in-person or online) - $155

  • Extended Session (75 min in-person or online) - $215

  • Couples/Family Session (50 min in-person or online) - $175

  • Couples/Family Extended Session (75 min in-person or online) - $235

  • ICBC Initial Session (50 min in-person or online) - $15 private co-pay*

  • ICBC Standard Session (50 min in-person or online) - $15 private co-pay*

  • ICBC Initial Report & Visit (50 min in-person or online) - $15 private co-pay*

  • CVAP Session (50 min in-person or online) - $20 private co-pay*

*Please be advised that ICBC and CVAP claims only cover a portion of the counselling session fee; the remainder of our fee will be charged to the client privately after each session as a co-pay.

Where there is financial hardship, select counsellors from our team offer sliding scale/reduced fees for sessions as availability allows. Please inquire with our client care coordinator team if we currently have reduced fee spots available. All prices are subject to GST.

Please note that from 2025 onward, our office will automatically implement a nominal $5.00 annual increase across services in January each new year to account for inflation and to keep fee increases minor for our clients.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

You may easily cancel or reschedule your appointment by changing your booking through your client profile in the JaneApp, emailing your therapist, or emailing our office and providing at least 48 hours notice.

If a session is cancelled for any reason less than 48 hours prior to the appointment or in the event of non-attendance, the full session fee applies. This is because it leaves a significant hole in the therapist’s day along with prep time that could have been used for another client. Alongside providing the best help for our clients, we also want to provide the best experience for our team members - which includes a consistent schedule. Win-win!

Can I use my extended health benefits?

Yes! Many extended health care providers will pay a portion or all of your visit fee. Every plan is different, and if you are counting on your extended benefits covering the cost of your counselling, we recommend checking with your health care provider to confirm your coverage before beginning therapy.

Extended Health Plans in BC that are known to cover Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs):

  • Great West Life

  • Greenshield

  • Sunlife

  • Pacific Blue Cross

Our office cannot confirm each client’s coverage for them. Vitality Collective requires all clients to privately pay for their sessions at the time service is rendered, excluding the organizations we have a direct billing partnership with in the section below. While we do not direct bill to extended health plans, clients will be issued a detailed receipt of their appointment which can be seamlessly submitted to your health plan for quick reimbursement.

What if I don’t have extended coverage to cover a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC)?

Some insurance providers cover counselling services but do not acknowledge the above titles as services to be covered. We suggest speaking to your Employer or Human Resources department to request this change. Many people don’t realize that their extended health coverage can be altered easily, usually at no extra cost to your employer.

For those who are self-employed or business owners, you can set up a Private Health Services Plan or Health Spending Account that will cover your counselling sessions.

Your counselling session fees are also claimable as a personal expense on your annual tax returns. Please note that the Medical Services Plan (MSP) in BC does not currently cover fees for counselling and psychotherapy.

Our office can provide direct billing to the following organizations and this is what we need from you:

  • Please provide all claim details to our intake coordinator at time of booking. In order to set up your first appointment, you will be requested to provide:

    • Your claim number

    • Policy maximum number of treatments

    • Adjuster name

    • Adjuster phone number

    • Policy end date

    • Injury date

  • Please provide all claim details to our intake coordinator at time of booking. CVAP limits compensation of counselling sessions to $80.00, therefore clients will be required to co-pay for the remainder of the session fee. Payment for the co-pay portion of the session will be required at the time of session.

  • Please provide us with your plan # and information.

  • Your VCH representative will supply us with a services agreement. We will need the contact information of your VCH care coordinator.

  • Your BCEHS representative will supply us with a services agreement. We will need the contact information of your BCEHS care coordinator.

  • Please provide us with the contact of your plan coordinator.

  • Please provide us with the contact of your case manager coordinator.

  • Please provide us with the contact of your school's designated representative.

Not all of our therapists are registered providers with the above organizations. Please indicate on your inquiry form if you intend to have one of these organizations support your counselling and we will verify which of our counsellors is available to meet with you.
